We apologise in advance, but to explain the uses of Zybax OdourMaster, it's hard to avoid getting a bit 'basic'. For example, when using the loo, some chaps (and it usually is the chaps) are not always as careful as they might be when 'aiming'. Not only that, what do they do when they get caught short walking home after 10 pints on a Saturday night? They duck into the nearest shop doorway or behind the bus-shelter to relieve themselves, that's what. And the result of this careless or anti-social behaviour? That dreadful pungent stench we all know only too well: URINE!

Unpleasant urine smells cause one of the most intractable problems in washrooms and elsewhere. Urine tends to penetrate deep into unreachable areas, where bacteria break it down, releasing foul-smelling ammonia gas (NH3).

How do you get rid of this smell? Up to now, the simple answer has been: 'with great difficulty'. You can try more frequent cleaning, air-fresheners, harsh (and environmentally-harmful) cleansers but, despite everything, you can still smell urine. Why is this? Because urine penetrates deep into the tiles, grouting, joints, cracks - everywhere - and the best you can usually hope to achieve is a temporary masking of the odour. You are not getting to the root of the problem: the development of the smell is not removed - just temporarily suppressed. Ordinary cleaners do their job for a while but after a few hours, they stop working and the smell returns.

Application

OdourMaster is ideal for washrooms and should be used to clean the whole area, including floors, walls and doors. It is applied using normal mops and cloths. Many Local Authorities use OdourMaster in dealing with 'unofficial urinal' areas and smells from animal waste; for this pupose, a spray applicator is often the best method. It is also very effective with spillages on carpets and is popular with care-homes and children's nurseries.

Usage

Depending on the degree of smell or soiling, OdourMaster is diluted 1:10 to 1:60. A relatively concentrated 1:10 'shock' dose is normally used for the first few days to give OdourMaster's microbes the best chance of dominating the 'bad' bacteria. After that, routine cleaning with a weak solution is all that is needed to keep smells at bay. OdourMaster should not be used in combination with products containing chlorine or which have a pH of over 10 or under 4, as these can destroy the active microbes.
